Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a subsidiary origination of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) New Delhi’s Directorate-General. The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dehradun (Uttarakhand) was established in the year 2004 but came into work entirely in the year 2005 with just one Allopathic wellness center. The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dehradun is applicable to the following categories of people residing in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dehradun covered cities:
- All Central Government employees paid from the Civil Estimates (other than those employed in the Railway Services and those employed under the Delhi Administration “except members of the Delhi Police Force”).
- Pensioners, who are getting their pension from the Civil Estimates [Pensioners residing in the non-Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dehradun areas also may get Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Card from the nearest CGHS covered City]
- Honorable Judges of the Indian Supreme Court residing in the area
- Honorable Members of the Parliament residing in the area
- Employees and Pensioners of the Autonomous Bodies, which are covered under the CGHS (Delhi)
- Ex-Members of the Parliament residing in the area Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dehradun
- Ex-Vice Presidents and Ex-Governors residing in the area
- Former Prime Ministers residing in the area
- Former Judges of Honorable Indian Supreme Court and Honorable Indian High Courts residing in the area
- Freedom Fighters residing in the area.

Q. Is there any interactive mechanism at the dispensary level?
A. At the Wellness Centre ‘Local Advisory Committees’ are formed. CMO i/c holds a meeting with Local Advisory Committee members to discuss local dispensary-related issues
Q. How long does it take to get the CGHS Cards?
A. Normally computerized printout of an index card is issued on the same day. Plastic cards are sent to the residence in ‘3’ weeks.
Q. What should I do if I lose my CGHS Cards?
A. The application is to be submitted to AD/JD along with two photographs and an IPO for Rs. 50/- for the issue of the duplicate card. Indian Postal Order is payable to “ P.A.O. CGHS”.
