The patient is a citizen of Karnataka but does not meet the criteria for an ‘Eligible Household’ as stated in the National Food Security Act of 2013. In such cases, the patient will receive half of the financial expenditures for his/her medical treatment.

Moreover, some exclusions are not eligible under Ayushman Bharat Karnataka Arogya. Let’s have a look at them.

Documents Required for Ayushman Bharat- Arogya Karnataka Scheme

To apply for an Ayushman Bharat card in Karnataka, the following documents are required:

  • Ration card
  • PDS (Public Distribution System) card
  • Aadhaar card

If you don’t have an Aadhaar card, you must provide your ration card to avail of Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka card benefits. With the help of this, you will be registered as a recipient, receive a card, and be granted to the benefits program for an ‘Eligible Patient.’ However, when you visit an impaneled private hospital after being referred by a government hospital, you will be required to produce an Aadhaar card.

Moreover, if you have an Aadhaar card but no ration card, you will be registered in the scheme but will be considered a ‘General Patient.’ As a result, you will get the advantages that a General Patient is entitled to under the scheme.

If you are unable to provide both documents, you will not be eligible to obtain any benefit associated with this plan. Parents enrolling their kids who are not above three years can use their own Aadhaar cards for registration.
